PLANT BIO

Officially known as the Calathea Lancifolia, the Calathea Rattlesnake is native to the Brazilian rainforest, usually growing to heights of around 80cm. This evergreen perennial is a member of the Marantaceae family, a group of plants known for their starchy rhizomes, with the Calathea Rattlesnake being considered one of the easiest in the family to care for.

What makes this plant even more impressive is the way in which its leaves move to catch the light during the day, something that is vital for the survival of an understory plant. In the home environment, these unique movements offer a dazzling show of color and life, making the Calathea Rattlesnake an attention-grabbing focal point in any room.
