PLANT BIO

A member of the Mallow family, with some of its relatives being hibiscus and cotton, the Pachira Money Tree comes from the tropical wetland areas of Central and South America, often found growing in swamps. Although this plant can be quite invasive in its native environment, its prolific nature makes it an easy-to-keep houseplant that can tolerate a wide range of conditions.

The Pachira Money Tree can grow to an impressive 60 feet tall in the wild, but those with braided trunks are much easier to maintain and control as a houseplant, while also being able to handle low light and infrequent watering. The plant’s ornamental appeal, along with the belief that the tree will bring wealth and fortune to its owner, has earned it a decorative spot in homes all over the world.
