Monstera Deliciosa (Swiss Cheese Plant)

Light:

Monsteras can live in medium to bright indirect light. Too much exposure to direct sunlight may burn and scorch their leaves. Growth will be slower in low light environments. If your Monstera Deliciosa isVariegated, make sure it receives 2-4 hours of bright indirect light.

Water:

Monsteras enjoys weekly waterings and frequent misting. Watering Monsteras will vary based on the room temperature and planter you have it in. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings, especially during the winter seasons. When uncertain when to water a plant get your hands dirty and stick a finger 2" in the soil to feel if its moist or not. Read more watering tips and tricks here

Humidity:

Monsteras enjoys a humid environment, a perfect way to upkeep that is frequent misting of its leaves. Another option is to place your Monstera close to other plants, which increases the humidity of the air around them.

Temperature:

Monsteras do not have any particular temperature requirements but will suffer if subjected to temperatures below 50ºF

Toxic:

Monsteras are toxic to both people and animals (not healthy to eat) - keep away from small children and pets.

Troubleshooting:

  • Yellowing leaves: suggests your Monstera Deliciosa has been getting too much light or has suffered from moisture shock.
  • Browning leaves: indicates your plant has been getting too little light or has suffered from low humidity.
